To all my fellow slq affectionados(you know who you are), just thought I would alert you to this beautiful PCGS FR02 on ebay. The strongest one I've seen(definitely stronger than mine). Reasonable starting price, and I'd probably bid on it if I didnt already have one. It's hard to find ones that are affordable for sale anywhere, as it seems that the FR and AG ones are uncommon in plastic. http://cgi.ebay.com/1916-Standing-L...em2c548b1885Edited by johnny54321 05/14/2010 7:56 pm

I think I qualify a fellow SLQ aficanodo. I agree that it is a strong FR-02, possibly a lower end AG-3. I can't afford to bid on it at the moment, but I think I'll save up for one with a somewhat clear date, perhaps VG or so. Nice eye appeal on that one and nice rims.

Yeah, in comparison to that one, I don't think neither mine nor nod's stands a chance at an AG-3 grade, unless one of the graders just got married or something..lol. I would have thought this one would make AG-3. It would be cool if one of our fellow CCFers jumped on this one and is able to complete his set by purchasing a subjectively undergraded 1916.

I'm actually going to take a crack at it, I think! Well, if I had the money... : (

I was still semi-considering it, though I won't bid if any fellow CCFers are seriously going to. I'm already going to be in trouble with my wife for the 16-d merc, so I'm secretly hoping to get one of these other guys in trouble too so they can join my party! Seriously though, this one has better rims than most G-4 1916-d mercs

I didn't know that PCGS slabbed dateless '16's.
Nice find.
Also that is the strongest G-6 date that I have ever seen.
Nice.

I have a hadful of dateless SLQ somewhere. I'd have to check if any of them are even type 1 but, if they are, how would you tell a dateless 1916 from a dateless 1917 type 1?
Nevermind. Just saw the other thread about this.
Thanks

Nice. Yes, they sure do! So does ANACS, but it appears that NGC is the odd man out and won't slab these dateless. The G-6 is quite nice...unfortunately I am too broke to bid. Treasurehunt, don't you have a certified VG 1916 slq? I thought I remember an old post you made at one point on cointalk about it, though I may be mistaken. If you do, would you mind posting it so we all can drool....
