These guys find a hoard of silver dollars and a bunch of gold coins stashed in Mason jars. The coins are covered in dirt and sand and they shake them around in their hands like marbles. What would a coin collector do if he found them? It's on right now here.

Yes, I am watching it. Interesting story. I do alot of driving in my job and I always wonder what is in the ground around some of the old farmhouses that I pass. They just pulled a 1894 gold coin out of the ground.

Notice how they treat them? I would have a fur pillow and a bucket of water.

I guess you'd need to invest in a metal detector first?

Then I will bring the shovel, and the beer of course.

Considering how most people NEVER find those "old legend" spots....that was a good show. Somebody ACTUALLY FOUND SOMETHING FOR A CHANGE !
And considering that the dates on some of the coins were AFTER Jesse James was supposed to have been killed....it was VERY interesting.
Those signs on the face of that little cliff......the "club" or "group" from the Confederacy that they say he may have belonged to. Jesse's intitials......etc. etc. ......have the conspiracy people with more fuel on the fire now !

Personally, I think they were left there by a "member" of that group and not Jesse James......or at least a "supporter/sympathiser". It's fun to imagine that he faked his own death......but....not reality IMO.
I've been to the house that he was shot in, by the way ! It's in St. Joseph, Missouri.......pretty cool !
And I've been to a cave in southern Missouri where they camped (their stuff is still there !) and were almost caught by a posse....narrowly escaped by jumping into a underground cave river that only native Missouri people could have known about and got away. They left their horses and a lot of gear....it's been preserved (as is the cave) by the Federal Park Service. The gear is still sitting there right where they left it ! Pretty neat !
