to see a wheatie at the end of a roll. I thought it would be the usual 1940s or 50s but SURPRISE !

Nice score! Reasonable condition too, considering the date. Based on the type of roll, could this possibly be a penny "from the wild", or is it a collection dump?

We opened the end of a quarter roll on Saturday and saw a 1945 (it was actually a 1945-D). It turned out to be the only silver in the roll, but for a minute there we thought we'd hit the jackpot.

There are some that would consider that worth mentioning.

Well if and when melting is allowed, the few thousands I have put away will be looking good. I've seen posts where some members have buckets or barrels full of them. I think it is about 2.1c worth of Cu in every cent right now and that's down from 2 weeks ago. Time will tell.

It's always a thrill as a roll searcher to find a 'target' coin at the end of the roll ...... good for you!

And a 1916-S at that ..... Great roll find.
