I recently bought 2 medals from a flee market, they were out of the 50 cents box. After googling them, I found some interesting stuff, mainly this http://www.medalcollectors.org/Guid...Balfour.html and this http://www.nasm.si.edu/collections/...A19731507000

I posted in the coin talk forum about the complete purchase(about 20 coins in total), but am looking for info on these medals, as they are the most interesting item in the group.

main question(original NASA, original Reproduction, fake/copy/novelty) and (silver? pewter?)

They are probably legit. There was a whole collection of those that were made in the early 70's.I beleive if you search this forum one of the members had the entire set for sale.
