Someday I will learn to resize this stuff right. I don't have much in the way of paper money, so I know little about the values but if I buy this for $600 is that a good deal?

Youd be basically paying a 20% premium for the item at face. I'm sure that's right around where its at.

Thank you, I didn't know if there is a market for this or not. I guess at worst I'd be out $100. I suppose I have spent money in much worst ways.

The paper is quite attractive. I'd take it if I were you.

I totally agree with wd1040. There is very definitely a market for high denomination notes. Especially with the apparent paper quality of this note, you should jump on it before someone else does (for $600 that is). I highly doubt that you will find one in that condition any cheaper, anywhere. It is one heck of a good deal.

train,
This a very nice note and I would recommend the purchase. It is a Series 1934, Friedberg 2200-G, with a printing of 573,000. The note looks in great shape. The centering is off a little, but this note could grade in the Fine to Very Fine range. Friedberg catalog has this note in Very Fine at $1,500. I would suggest to send it in for grading to either PCGS or PMG. Once graded and authenticated, you should be able to double your money with a solid grade. High denomination notes, that have been graded, will carry the extra premium. Paper quality looks good with no detracting fold marks. Do not attempt to clean the note in any manner. Good Luck.

I'd jump on it in a hot minute. Last (and only) one I bought was in comparable shape for 650.

Looks like a good deal from this oldtimer's perspective. The color is quite good, and I've seen collectors pay $700 or more for less impressive examples.

Well... I bought it and it is rather nice. The reverse picture does not do it justice. I may have it graded. The guy I bought it from said his Grandfather used to collect stamps, and stuffed in a book he found this. No coins though.
I have always wanted one, although I don't really collect paper money. It will go good with my 1934 $100 star note. I gotta get a book about paper money so I know what I'm looking at.
Thanks everybody.

You got a good deal. $500s in VF tend to sell for around $750 at shows. The buy/sell spreads on circs are pretty tight.
