I was going to wait until Memorial Day weekend, but it occured to me that some people may be away from the forum for the holiday. Couple that with the fact that I just posted my 1000th post , and we'll hold Mastermind IV this Saturday.

The prize for this round will be 2009P-1DO-002 & 2009P-1DR-002 all on one coin! This one I like to refer to as the "creepy finger". This is the cool one!

I'm thinking about changing up the rules a little bit to allow multiple guesses in the same day. I think this game would be best played in a day, rather than over a few.

So, between now and Saturday, let me hear some suggestions.

If you have been watching this game and not playing, tell me what needs to be different to get you involved!

Shortly before 6PM EST this Saturday, May 22, I will pick the winning combination and repost the new rules!

Let me hear those suggestions! Here's what you will be playing for:

Nobody with any suggestions?

Should we keep the 10/18 format? Or go back to the 7/13 format?

I'm thinking about 1 guess per person evey 6 hours, 6-12, 12-6 X AM/PM. 4 guesses per day. What do you think?

How about a roll call! Who's in?

Chime in! Less than 2 hours to kick-off!

So you like the current format with one guess per day? What about the new extended 10/18 format? Keep it?

By the way, if you're checking this out for the first time and wondering how to play, the current format and rules can be read under Mastermind III. The rules will be reposted here when the game begins, with changes, if any.

Well, with less than 30 minutes to go and no real suggestions, I think we'll keep Ian's latest format.

So, a recap of the rules:

Quote:
Here is the list I've chosen (from my Forex account - no offense if you favorite currency is not on here):

AUD Australian Dollar
CAD Canadian Dollar
CHF Swiss Franc
EUR Euro
GBP British Pound
JPY Japanese Yen
MXN Mexican Peso
NZD New Zealand Dollar
SEK Swedish Krona
SGD Singapore Dollar
USD US Dollar
XAG Silver (oz) *I know these are commodities, not currencies, but since I can trade
XAU Gold (oz) *them in my Forex account, they're valid. (Plus, it's my contest!)
********** Currencies add by Ian Price ********************************************
IQD Iraqi Dinar
GRD Greece Drachma
VND Vietnam Dông
DKK Denmark Krone
SZL Swaziland Lilangeni
*******************************************************

//From this point forward, for the sake of not having to type currency/commodity repeatedly, EVERYTHING will be referred to as a currency.//

For those of you not familiar with the game:

Someone (in this case, me) selects 10 currencies and arranges them in a certain order (NO duplicates will be used!).
The players (y'all) - yes, I'm from the south, try to guess which currencies and in what order.

After each guess, you will get clues as to how many are correct in total, and how many are in the right position.
But, it's up to you to figure out which ones!

Let's take a test run:
Let's say I've chosen: MXN, JPY, XAU, USD, CHF, GBP, EUR, GRD, VND, DKK
And the first guess is: AUD, CAD, XAU, NZD, GBP, SGD, XAG, IQD, SZL, SEK
Then the clue would be 2 right in total (XAU and GBP) and 1 in the right position (XAU).

But, again, all you will get from me is 2 correct, 1 in the right position. You have to figure out which is correct and in the right place.

One guess per person per day. 1 day will be defined as midnight EST.
*** Exceptions:
(A) If you post a reply that has too many or not enough selections, you may repost with the correct number of currencies. DO NOT EDIT YOUR POST - just repost.
(B) You can take a second guess in the same day, but it will be your final answer. If you are wrong - you are eliminated and can no longer play.

I hope you like this game, and maybe someone else will use it again in the future.
It is really fun and is a good exercise for the brain.

********** PREVIOUS WINNERS **********
1. steve199 / nod2003
2. Adam_E
3. svslav
4. could be you!

I will choose the winning combination at 6PM EST! Good luck! Have fun!

I know I will!
