It's a 1 penny token from Britain, Australia or somewhere else where the old pounds, shillings and pence monetary system was used; D is short for "penny". I have seen many such tokens and have a couple myself; the club or company that issued them usually had their name or cypher stamped onto the other side. As this one is un-named, it's probably a generic type or "stock token", used by clubs or companies that couldn't afford to make a personalised obverse die.
