I see the grade as MS63 with a possible PL reverse. Very pretty coin. The date issue should not hurt the grade at all.

If you own a Morgan, you have a VAM. Every Morgan has a VAM #, it is a die marriage. It's just that some VAMs are better and easier to spot than others

If you haven't been to http://www.ashmore.com/vamupdate/index.htmspend some time there. Click on the "images" link, and sit back. There are hundreds of images for you to look at and enjoy, your coin might even be represented there.

Tim, it's a little too bright of an image to tell for certain, but I'd guess MS-62 or MS-63 based on the images. There seems to be a lot of bag marks on the obverse fields and on Liberty's face which would keep the grade down. The camera may also be exaggerating the marks.

My usual disclaimer: I haven't looked at the other responses yet.

Tim, based on your follow-up images, I'd still say MS-62 or -63. It's a very pretty Morgan (well, ALL Morgans are pretty!) but the obverse marks will keep her grade down.

Bryan's the VAM expert, so I'll defer to his judgement on its status as a VAM.

Are you planning to get it slabbed?

I was thinking of it, but I am not sure if it would be worth the money. Red Book shows a MS63 as $50.00 and a MS64 as $70.00.

I want to thank everyone for the opinions

Tim
