I'm talking about really deep dark toning and also those coins with one part of the edge all blackened.

Do I want to do anything to these coins before sending them to grading or should they get slabbed with all that darkness?

I have other examples but I am sure you get the idea.

Thanks!

Don't do anything, just send them in like that. The toning on those coins is very nice and a lot of people prefer toned coins.

Nicely toned coins.Why have them graded?1935&49 dollars aren't worth the expense unless you expect them to come back at MS65.Your toned coins will be fine as raw coins as album collector said many collectors prefer toned coins.

Yep, I agree with DBM exactly.
I was amazed to learn the same thing about the 1935 dollars. Even tho it was the 1st year of release and it was 75 years ago, omly very high grades are worth the bucks.

Thats nothing. ICCS like to use the words 'Lustrous Brown' for a coin that is completly toned brown and shines and grades them MS-62 if there is no wear.

Those coins would warrant a bid from me any day. I don't care about grades, I look for the "handsomeness", and boy, those have it.
BTW, plastic affects my bid not 1 bit. Wait, I lied. Got a '45 Merc. this weekend for 6.00. It was PCGS MS64, but it's for resale.

Wow, you folks just answered my next question;
Is it worth having coins of this nature graded?
