Hi all, Just thought that I'd share some photos of the equipment that I use to take macro shots.
Canon EOS 40D with EOS utility live view on my computer, this allows me to control my camera from my computer, it avoids any camera shake, together with a Brunel microscope with X 1,2,4 and 6 lenses

Nice.

Using it, I could no longer get along without that Canon utility.

Is that an MX3? I have been researching, and it seems that Brunel offers excellent value for money. The quality of your shots seem to support my belief.

SuperDave, you are correct, it is a Brunel MX3 and at £150 inc VAT, it is excellent value for money, especially as you can buy different magnification eye pieces and different magnification objective lenses.

I am bumping this thread to express my disappointment. All set to purchase a Brunel microscope for myself, only to find out that the shipping cost nearly equaled the price of the microscope. That places the transaction far out of my budget, and nearly doubles what it would have cost me to ship it to them from the US.

There will be no Brunel microscope in my future.

SuperDave, you could try phoning them to get the price down, I had a similar problem when I made my purchase. And I live in the UK. They quoted me a high price for postage so I said that I would cancel the order. They then reduced the cost. With the credit crunch you may get a deal.

I may do just that. It has to wait, however; in the aftermath of my shopping, I've come across two different auctions ending tonight, either of which will soak up that toy money while at the same time making me a giddy-happy buyer should I score either.

Of course, I'm up a creek if I score both.
