Hey Dollar1948, definitely post up what you're looking to get rid of, some of us here still like at least some of the NCLT stuff that the mint puts out........well, except for that new Peanuts coin By the way, glenzy1 let me know the next time you're tossing out your coins, I'll make sure your trash is disposed of quickly and efficiently

Well, since you had the same thought, I'll make sure to send you a few of the coins that I discard after I pick through glenzy1's garbage

Why don't you wait a month and see if you still have the same opinion? I'd hate to see you sell items cause your ticked at the mint at the moment only to regret it later.

Hi iaconic....Ive calmed down now, and my opinion it really hasn't changed. I got into a hissyfit with a member in here a couple months back about his constant badgering about RCM stuff..grannie bait etc., and now I'm starting to really side with him. After seeing the latest peanuts coin, along with the lynx set, coupled with the 3d dinosaur coin, I have lost interest fast. The colourized coins..yea ok,,looked cool when they 1st came out with them, but now its gotten old fast for me. I spreadsheeted most of these items yesterday and I cant belive the drop in prices for a majority of this stuff. As an example and if you have the Charlton 2010 collecter volume, please have a look at the 1 dollar commeratives from 1980 to 1993. Please note that in every single case the values have gone down, based on the original issue price and the lowest MS grade value. Scroll down and you will see more and more. I've got some prestige sets, same thing..list goes on. I wont even get what the Charlton is quoting if I sell to a dealer, and I wouldn't expect any educated collector and buyer to abide by those prices. The RCM reported record profits last year, meanwhile earlier this year they hiked up their prices. What ever happen to that misplaced gold. They meaning to say all of it is associated with manufacturing shrinkage? Man I wish I worked there. When push comes to shove, I just really got to knock it off, and get back to the root of my coin collecting hobby, decimal and circulated coinage. I've got about 20 1oz maple leafs, kukaburras, and pandas and I'm keeping them. At least I know I wont lose any money for them. I also collect BU examples of Lincoln cents, all in air tights, and I've got them all, all mints, and I'm working my way backwards and am presently at 1929. I'll take the proceeds from selling all this stuff, and put it towards the key dates, and upgrading purposes of my main collections, and stand clear of this stuff going forward.

The missing gold was found. Turns out some bureaucrats are in over their heads at the RCM: Quote: The mint said in June that gold valued at the time at $15.3 million that was missing from its vaults on Sussex Drive in Ottawa might have been stolen.
But three independent security and accounting reviews found that $8 million worth was simply miscounted, while more than $3 million worth was sold off as slag - at a fraction of its worth. Another $1.6 million worth was found in buildings and machinery in the mint. Read more: http://www.cbc.ca/canada/ottawa/sto...xzz0qGpgD5QoI'm in Toronto. Looking foreword to your offload list :)

Any years Dollar can't fill I likely have extras. I have extra everything. I bought the neighbours cottage because he was ticking me off so I've been liquidating bullion to pay for part of it plus needed upgrades. Haven't really had the heart and/or nerve to dig much into the harder to liquidate items and I can't flood the local market too heavy because we're so rural. I haven't been a member here long enough to post a sale despite my "chatty" habits so I've sent about 1000 ish US coins off to melt. Not taking losses on consigning, to heck with it.

Dollar1948 post up some of your Wheats if you can. I like those seeing those, but all mine are just the average circulated stuff I find in rolls.

I don't recomment NELL'S advice! In late '54, I was betting on INDY ANN to win. She was a good winning dog, ant the race track. One night, I went to the races, and it turned out to be the "cleaners"! Sjhe flat fell on her face, and I lost everything I had! The good thing that happened there is that the girl who worked selling tickets was on a break, and helping the other girl in the coffee shop. I always stopped for a cup of "mud" before heading back to the base. This night, there wasn't enough for a cup of coffee, and I was going to go without it. She asked me if I wanted a cup of coffee, and I said yes, but INDY ANN took me to the cleaners, and I'm broke. She said I'll buy you a cup. As it turned out, she has been "buying my coffee' for more than 55 years! I married that girl a couple months later. I never bet on another dog, after that. She will be 81, the 23rd of this month, and I'd do it all over again! Dick

I just wanted to provide everyone an update how I'm making out on this effort. I contact my regular dealer who I have known for the past 4 years if he is interested in this material, and he told me he would get back to me the next day. That was 3 days ago. This is standard for this guy, I have written emails to him in the past asking if he had this or that, and I never get a speedy response back. I usually end up looking elsewhere. Frankley I'm not going to give him much more time..Im not sure if thats good customer service or not on his end, but you snooze you loose. I will make certain I get back to those interested in seeing this spreadsheet of what I got, before I go to plan B.Craigslist I have a paypal account I've used on ebay, but have never jigged or used it for selling purchases, so I dont know what I'm up against there`, and wrapping this stuff up and posting it,is kind of undesirable as well. Ideally people in the GTA would be great, but if push comes to shove I wouldnt dismiss shipping, and 'pay-paling' it.. Hang tight
