Honestly, I get a lot of fulfillment out of using a custom excel spread sheet. But I would be interested in options that are out there. hmmm I should write one in php and host it on my server. haha

I use a word document and it looks like this:
Wheat cents 1909-Total-2 1909-V.D.B.-Total-4 1910-Total-2

I use a word document as well, Year, mint mark, thinking of switching over to Excel, easier to have it do all the tables for you then manually creating in word.. More time to roll search!

I have so many coins, it's impossible to switch to excel(as much as I want to) With world and u.s, I have 50 pages of coins just the way I posted above, and I have only just begun collecting!

Hmm...I think I need to make myself a spreadsheet sometime. Quite honestly, I don't know a lot of what I have off the top of my head...gee do you think that means I have too many? Nah!

The only coins that make it into my permanient records are those I intend to keep, otherwise they receive a code on the 2X2 which tells me when they were bought or aquired, how much they cost and a line number on papaer files.
it would look like this
0945265
bought in 09 for 45.00 line number 265
If the price was in cents the code would look like this
09.45265
as for the computer, a scan of my paper documents is what I use.

I use Coin Manage it is available through Liberty Street. I find it a great program as I can put the images of my coins on there making it easier for insurance purposes plus it has the values already in the program and you can update the prices and database as required. Cheers Bryan

Not impossible. A program can be written to convert the file to reflect your data into columnar format which is then imported into database management software or spreadsheets.

I use a spreadsheet and it is pretty useful. As for pictures, you can easily hyperlink a picture to the sheet of your coins. I'm going through that now for all of my coins.
