Hi! I'm Alex and I'm new to this. I've been collecting all the different kinds of Canadian quarters like the 2010 Olympic series and such. Not for any real value (yet!) but it's pretty fun and I'm curious about the different coins.

I have one question though. Coin or medal? How can you tell? What is the difference? Something about being in circulation or used to commemorate something. But how can you tell?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I go by basics. If it has any denomination with date & country, that about does it. Although their are some tokens that come real close. The notgelds are looked at differently.
