Has the R.A.M gone mad ? 2010 1oz pure silver $1 specimen/proofto be joined by the 1/5oz $1 pure silver. Shouldn't it be a 20c fv ?

More importantly shouldn't it cost a fifth of the price of of the 1 Oz ($20), not half? :-)

RAM may have gone mad, I don't think that 1/5oz will be so hot. I do own the 1 oz versions though.

Agree with all of the above. At 21.69 mm diameter, this coin is smaller than a British sovereign. That's just too small to really appreciate its beauty. I think the RAM would have a home-run if they ever make a massive 5 oz. Kangaroo, so you can see more of your reflection in the mirror finish. Same goes for the gold...if they make a 2 oz. gold Kangaroo, I'd sell my left kidney to get me a few.

Well it seems someone likes them as the mint has sold out their on-line allocation and Downies is out too.

what is the difference between the two silver kangaroo series that the r.a.m. offers? is the kangaroo at sunset part of the same series as the other kangaroo series or different?

Original Kangaroo at sunset was the 2007-2010 1oz gold versions, re-issued in 2009 as a 1oz pure silver proof for the Fabulous 12 world crown collection, was not officially released in Australia, 2,000 were sold by Downies, while a further 2,000 were sent to Us & Europe. Specimen types were also released. They are not part of the annual kangaroo series.

I think 1/5 of an Oz is pretty tight.imho.If the mint charged over 15 bucks, someone at the mint needs a pay cut.

The original, large enough for the sunsets reflection to be seen when held properly

that is a pretty slick design. I just may have to pick one of those up, that is the one ounce. I am not too sure about the 1/5 oz., I think that is a tad too small for my collecting taste.
