Pocket Coin Project

Recently I ended up with some HARSHLY cleaned (silver polish) coins in a lot. Soooo I figured they will become pocket coins and serve some useful purpose. For good measure I added 2 LMC's, 67 JKF and they go along with me for the entire day. The only thing about this is when you walk fast the coins cling clang quite a bit.

The dates are 1884, 1917, 1943 (dime and nickel), 67 and the pennies are 75 and 82 (All Philly MM). Below is a pic of the walkabouts and will update once in a LONG while.

The inspiration for this project comes from this forum. Thank You.

Avoid khaki pants! I've lost many a pocket piece to those business casual monsters.

Ceylon, I think it's a good idea.

I limited mine to halves, along with a couple of foreign coins and a driving range token, which I didn't weigh at the start. These are mixed with real change that I do spend.

Steve, Did not realize you had a similar thing going on. Else I would have tagged along on your post.

My main idea here is to see if the harshness of the cleaning wears down on the Morgan, liberty, dime and Nickel. Next time I am at the coin shop I will have him weigh the coins for me.

I keep these coins in the left pocket and spending change in the right. Hippie, interesting observation about the khaki's - that explains the all the loose change in the car (on the floor around the seat).

Does anyone have any thoughts on taking these folks for a swim once in a while? Or is that a no no.

Thanks

Peace

Don't you think that you're ruining these relics in a way? Not by much, I guess.

I would say avoid swimming with them since pools have chlorine and that can't do a coin any good at all.
