Well, the latest Canadian Coin News has on the bottom of page 39, a final confirmation from the RCM, that they had it wrong all along, and the engraved 2 variety of the colourized mens hockey 25 cent coin, is the more common.
NO KIDDING!
You know, I knew this all along with probably thousands of other collectors, and even after numerious communications to them about this issue by CCN people, they alwasy stuck to their guns.
The spin doctors there are saying the confusion stems from people using the term 'raised' and 'engraved' interchangibly.
Not me!
BTW, they are claiming there are only 200,000 of the raised 2's.
For those are confused, the raised 2 is the one that doesn't appear to have been 'carved' with a chisel.

So did the raised 2 variety just jump in price?

I always miss the good buys.

There was no way that every collector who roll searched and found the raised 2 so tough to find was wrong in their observations. At least they finally admitted it.

I have 3 raised and about 200 engraved so I never believed the RCM after the dust settled in February. Most coin collectors did not either as the prices for the raised have always been higher.

Speaks highly of collectors I think. Not even RCM mintage claims can influence collectors if they do not believe it.

They have no credibility with me. This is far from their first miscalculation, and it certainly won't be the last!

PLEASE -- whoever is listening out there -- don't let anybody from the RCM get a commercial pilot's license or become a dentist!
