It says in the article "3.27 million euros ($4.02 million)" and a Google conversion gives me $4.03 million.

Think about it this way, that is gold at just over four times face.

220 pounds of gold sold at spot. Makes me wonder if that coin is going to end up in the the melting pot.

Thats wrong.At the current exchange rate $4,032,237
Bullion value as of 2:45 PM EST 6/25/10 $4,035,369
or $3,132 less than the bullion value
I wonder what it would grade at they should die cast a custom slab for it

As I said, Google gave me $4.03 million almost three hours ago; the article was posted seven hours ago (and was probably written the day before).

Regardless, they got a deal! And as Steve suspects, it will probably get melted at some point in time.
