I've gotten this coin from my friend who is not in this area of hobby. It's 15 mm, has signs of electroplate that are visible on the pictures. I checked on Wildwinds and other web sites and couldn't found the similarities. So, could somebody help me to identify this coin, its mint and appox. value.

Wow, there's not much to go on here: the letter N, what might be the letter A in front of it, a few parallel lines and something that might or might not be a portrait on the other side. Still, I think I've found it: Pantikapaion, a Greek colony on the Crimean peninsula, on what is now the Ukrainian side of the Strait of Kerch. Coins from there often just have PAN as the inscription, and I see there on that Wildwinds page there are coins with a bow and arrow on the reverse, like this one. There are numerous examples of this coin on Wildwinds. Coins from here have become much more common since the fall of the Soviet Union. It's probably in the $10 to $20 range.

Sap, Thank you very much. I am sure you're right, especially, I got this coin from friend of mine, who is Ukrainian, and he brought it from Ukraine. Those coins have variety of sizes. That one you have linked to is 19 mm; however, SNGBM 901.2 (from the same page) is 13.13/15.31 mm which is close to mine. Also, if you might be interested, there is interesting Museum of Money in Feodosia, Crimea, where I found lots of similar coins. This is a link: http://en.museum-of-money.org/qserc...pantikapaionThanks again
