I have an Oldenburg 1921 50 pfennig
German Stalling, Oldenburg

It is the tribute note (token) for guide dogs for blind soldiers.
does anyone know the English translations for both sides of this note?

My German is far too rusty to translate the front, but the reverse says "A Faithful Guide"

If you type the text into the babelfish website you should be able to get most of the words translated.

This is what it says, all very boring really:

The number of this banknote (bill) is approved from the police commission of the Bremen senate. It is registered by the commerce Oldenberg private bank branch office and loses its valitity, if it is cashed three months after the recall in the Bremen newspapers.
German association for paramedic dogs.

The other side says:

A true signpost/guidepost (or something meaning that the dog helps the man find his way)

The German text in the two boxes is typical of notgeld redemption conditions. It reads:

Quote:
Die Ausgabe dieses Scheines is von der Polizeikommission des Senates Bremen genehmigt. Er wird von der Kommerz & Privatbank Filiale Oldenburg jederzeit eingelöst und versiert seine Gültigkeit, wenn er nicht drei Monate nach erfolgter Aufrufung in den bremischen Zeitungen eingelöst wird.
Deutscher Verein für Sanitätshunde.

Which, with the help of Google Translate and my high school German dictionary, I would translate as:

The issuing of this note is approved by the Police Commission of the Senate of Bremen. It can be redeemed at any time from the Commercial and Private Bank branch in Oldenburg and remains valid, up until three months after a Notice of Recall is published in the Bremenese newspapers. (For the) German Association for Medical Dogs.
