How come trends never makes reference to small and large beads for the 1948 cents? Charlton does and there is a big price gap. Has anyone ever seen a reason given in an issue?

Trends never lists the 1947 ML Pointed 7 either :(

That's a good question and, interestingly, the Trends editor, Michael Findlay, is scheduled for a "Meet the Trends Editor" session at the RCNA Convention in Saint John, NB on July 15th from 7:30-9am.

Trends lists the '47 ML and '47 ML blunt, the former, I believe, being the pointed. Besides what CRF
said, basically a lot of people just don't care that much about the '48 SD. There are all kinds of varieties out there, some of which become popular and widely collected, and some which just never make it onto the radar or want list for a lot of people.
