It all started with a 40 miles trip to my favorite coin store.

Once there, I was let in through a heavily armored back door.

The transaction was carried out swiftly, and with two escourts I made my way back to my truck and headed for home. I had security in front, and in back, and I think it was well worth the expense.

Upon reaching home I hurried to my front door and gave ny secret knock. My wife then opened the latches on the six locks, and let me enter.

We made our way to the living room where a small group of friends had gathered and a place on the mantle had been cleared.

The piece of perfection was placed in its temporary resting place for about 10 minutes while family and friends gathered around to admire it.

Next, I took the numismatic gem, and with a small entourage we left the house through a secret back door, jumped in a waiting vehichle, and sped to the bank.

There, my safety deposit box was opened, and the spectacular piece of coin craftsmanship was placed inside. The box was closed, and locked back into place.

And, that's how my One Ounce Proof Gold Buffalo came to arrive at its new home.

During those occasions when it leaves its home at the bank, my wife has announced she will care for it personally.

Perhaps I embellished the tale just a bit, but it is one of the most beautiful coins I have ever seen.

Knowing how much they love the buffalo, I hope Terry and Old Dan own one, or soon will own one.

Doesn't say he should have embellished it more, it says he did embellish it a little to make it a more interesting story

Tpatna, Wish I would have thought of selling tickets. Might have helped me pay for the coin!

Well Gary I am very happy to see a herd starting in Colorado but.....the last place I would put one of mine would be in a bank!!! With the new terrorism laws or economic hard times that bank could lock you out in a heartbeat. NO coins in a safe deposit box for me! We, as collectors, have literally no end of places one could hide, conceal or store collectable coins and I find being in CONTROL at ALL times much more comforting. If you must store it off-site always remember the free lifetime storage here in Indiana that I personally oversee!!! Your coins are safe with me!!!

I'm sure that Terry would be a much safer location but, oh the fees would be even higher than a safe deposit box!

ps: There are already Buffalo in Colorado and white ones too! :-0
