I was going back through some questionable Lincolns that I had set aside for another look when lo and behold, out pops a 1983P-1DO-001!

1983-P-LMC-1-DO-001 1983-P-LMC-1-DO-001

My camera is unable to pick up the doubling on the motto, but I was able to isolate it on Liberty. In hand, the doubling on the motto matches the same directions as the example on coppercoins.

The die clash is apparent on the reverse, as well as the weakness in column 4.

Anyone care to offer a grade?

4th and 7th columns are kind of unique, too. I'm not good with grading, though.

Nice find!

I would say AU-53... It lookslike the reverse has been scratched or cleaned in some way... And I'm not too sure what is goin on above the date on the field... But of course that is IMHO...

well, there is some slight corrosion on the reverse so I'm gonna say EF-45. although it may make AU-53

DA - The reverse has some wicked polishing marks from a large clash and the front is full of those "pimples" that are prevalent in early Zincolns. Other than the gash on Abe's nose, most of the large marks are from the mint.

Adam - I'll have to check on the corrosion when I get home from work. I think it was just staining.

Adam - I checked the corrosion and most of it is staining. There is a little bit of verdigris starting under Liberty.
