I found this coin and I am curious what kind of error it is. What is the value of this coin. It is a new Maryland quarter that has been circulated. Thank You.

Hi ml325

Your image is not working, I think the problem is the period in the file name,, only Numbers and letters no symbols !!

Rename the file with out the period and I think you will be OK .

It's the brackets, or the combination of space-and-brackets. delete the "%2O"s in the url and replace them with {space}(2) and the picture shows up, but snitz still seems to have trouble reading it when you try to post it as an image or link. Here's the pic, re-named and re-uploaded in my upload area:

All part of the service.

As to what it is, looks like it's either a die clash or someone's stacked two coins on top of each other and given them a whack. Given the apparently flattened area in the rim, I'd tend to favour the latter opinion, and that it's post-mint damage and not a "mint error". Any other opininons?

Sorry about the mess up with the picture. Now that I look at the coin, I can see a portion of "E Pluribus Unum" and OF America imprinted backwards.

I agree with squeeze job because the letters are incuse instead of sticking up. So its post mint damage where someone stuck two coins together and squeezed them in a vice or something like that until the one design was on the other coin
