It is the 1st year of issue for this Alamos Mint (Sonora, Mexico) 5 centavos. What makes it interesting is the coin is off centered. the later dates from this mint becomes much more scarce. The largest mintage (43,000 coins) was in 1883 and there were 2 varieties a normal eagle and the mule 1 peso gold eagle. There is more to the series. Report this Post to the Staff
