Gothic Florin: One of my most appreciated coins is a Gothic Florin in nearly uncirculated condition. They are a much cheaper alternative and easier to obtain coin than the Gothic Crown, considered to be one of the most beautiful coins ever produced. Incidentally, about three gold Gothic crowns were made. Just imagine the price of one of those at auction! I do have a few
US coins in nice grades as well.
Basically, I have been an ancient collector for decades, but I do have a strong interest in British coins of the 19th century, because they were the common circulating medium of Australia from 1825 until 1910. There are about 100 types in this part of the British series, which allows for a lot of interest and study. Australia also produced Sydney Mint sovereigns from 1855, then Imperial sovereigns. Due to a severe shortage of small change during the 1860's, tradesmen produced half penny and penny tokens.
