I haven't followed a forum or answered so many topics in my lifetime. I'm trying to get the fifty required posts (I think I fully understand the need for this) so that I can revert back to my own self again. I would rather listen than speak, because from the mouths of old-timers, sometimes comes foolishiness. I thought maybe I'd get my local priest to write a reference letter for me, but don't think that would fly.. So, fellow members, please bear with me until I get my dues paid up with the 50 post's required and I can then slow down with the answers. Thanks to all,
Berry

I try to always try to welcome the new members. This will help you pick up some easy posts.

Nope, unfortunately this has been very much abused in the past. The Welcome forum no longer increases post counts.

Posts are looked at by the staff and must be, at least mostly, quality posts.

We have had people in the past just drag up old threads and post things like "Very interesting" and "Thanks" or "Cool stuff". People that do this sort of things will have their post counts manually lowered by the staff.

I'm sorry to sound like such a tough guy on this, but the rule is in place to try to get a feel for new members before they are allowed to do things that could be detrimental to our family. It's nothing personal.

In addition to the methods listed above, any attempt to circumvent this rule will be dealt with accordingly.

Good things come to those who wait!

Ah. Thanks, Bobby, that explains it. Some of us were wondering how newbies were managing to post in the "welcome" thread with "zero" posts...

I have been watching for it and adjusting post counts to reflect 1 if a new member posts there to introduce themselves.
