Just finished my PCGS "Lincoln Memorial Proof Registry Set" and now am filling out a PCGS "Lincoln Proof Set 1950-2009". All this means is I need to get proof coins 1950-1958 and add them to my memorial set. What I want to say here is now that I have obtained 3 PCGS cameo wheat proofs I am stunned at how beautiful these wheats are as against the memorials. The reverse especially on the wheats doesn't have a lot of letters and they look like mirrors. These coins are absolutely beautiful. Must be the metal composition. I have cameos but could not afford a deep cameo (about $100 more if you can find one, but they are much nicer than my memorial deep cameos. If anyone has a wheat Deep Cameo maybe they can post it. Wish I could get some good images of them to upload. Just wanted to share my thoughts on these beautiful coins.

Very cool! I'll be on the lookout! I've found pics of mirror proofs are especially difficult, but if they've a nice cameo, that should help a lot.

Congrats!

I wanted to bump this thread up because I've started building a similar set, that is, a 1950-1958 cameo collection of Lincoln wheats. Has anyone noticed that NGC and PCGS vary greatly in their designation of CAM for these dates? NGC seems to be quite liberal, even giving CAM to coins I didn't think deserved it, whereas I've seen many PCGS slabbed cents that didn't get the CAM that I believe easily should have. It's one of the few areas where PCGS and NGC seem to be inconsistent.
