Last Saturday at an estate sale, I purchased for 50 cents the book "Heart Songs: Memories of Days Gone By" from 1909, which itself is a nice find given its vintage and condition, but the real surprise was when I was flipping through the pages, where I found not one, not two, but THREE Series 1935A $1 silver certificates:

Got a $2 Red 1953 at a local bank today.

Thanks! When I tried to upload the image, it said it was too big. It also wouldn't let me post when I tried to post the image from image bb.

I found these bills still in circulation. The $20 is from 1934 and the $1 is from 1935. I think that they are both in pretty good condition for being 90 years old.

Hey CaseyCoins I hate to break it to you but they are not 90 years old.
The series year has nothing to do with the year they were issued.
Take the 1935f silver certificate.
When was the year 1935f?
There was not one.
Normally you would use the serial number to figure out when it was printed but these are to old.
You can use the signature combo to get a rough estimate.
The 1934 20 has the signatures of William Alexander Julian and Henry Morgenthau.
Julian was in office from 6/1/1933 - 5/29/1949 and Morgenthau was in office from 1/1/1934 - 7/22/1945 so the print age range is from 1/34-7/45.
Now the 1935f silver certificate has the signatures of Ivy Baker Priest and Robert Bernard Anderson.
Priest was in office from 1/28/1953 - 1/29/1961 and Anderson was in office from 7/29/1957 - 1/20/1961 so the print age range is from 7/57-1/61
