I was searching a box of quarters yesterday... I found no silver, and one error. One VERY cool error. I found a 2005P Minnesota quarter with an extra tree. Unfortunately I am no pro in this hobby. SO can some help with the grade, which variety, and possibly value. I was thinking about sending it to ANACS. Which costs like $45. I am not sure if that is worth it. Also hello everyone!:)

Being from Minnesota I would certainly like to add this coin to my collection. Been searching for the elusive tree for at least the last five years. As for the grade a MS-63, IMHO. Congrats on find!

Is it possible to find a Minnesota quarter that doesn't have an "extra tree"? I believe there are supposed to be something like 80 different varieties.

A local dealer might give you 26 cents for it Unless you can attribute the specific DDR, then you will be doing yourself a disservice by selling it on ebay where it will sell for less money unattributed. The provided pics are not good enough to positively attribute it though I can see enough to know that it is one of the better Minnesota DDRs I think the market for these Minnesota quarters fizzled after dozens of DDRs were discovered, so many of them look alike and the doubling is so small that most collectors couldn't care less about them.

Sell it to rastatodd. Or maybe you can trade it to him for Brett Favre!

The coin for Brett is something to think about. Will see how the old man does. Took his sweet time getting off the couch! See you have 4 entries on this forum if you had more I like to have talked a deal.
