its a book called shoeless Joe & me where a kid travels back in time through a baseball card to save shoeless Joe from the black sox scandal. (the scandal happened when some players on the white sox kicked the game to get money from gamblers) and shoeless Joe (who got his name by playing with no shoes for the end innings for one game when his new cleats were bothering him) was thought to be part of the scandal, and was kicked out of pro baseball. Joe was not actually part of the scandal, he was actually trying to get out of it, but on one would listen to him/believe him that someone could/would actually throw a world series. so he ended up not saving shoeless Joe but before he left, his mom asked him to get a picture of his great uncle and aunt. his uncle had died of the flue breakout. the main character had the flue too, so his mom told him to take his medicine with him on the trip. so he takes it with him and since his great uncle had the flu, he gave him the medicine and actually SAVED his great uncle and once he is back into the future, he sees his great uncle.
I know NOTHING about baseball and nor do I like it, but if I hadn't read one of these before (Mickie $ me) I decided to read all of them because they were pretty interesting.
sorry for hijacking the thread.
