Heck, I'd take the lot off his hands without the 1884-S. There are quite a few coins in the lot over a hundred. nlp

I believe the MS-62 1896-S is no slacker either. It's a $2K+ coin as well. I Show each of these coins in the lot as being over $200 each MS-62's 1883-S $1.7K 1885-S $300 1886-S $450 1887-S $200 1888-S $400 1889-S $300 1896-S $3K 1889-O $300 Total $6,650 MS-63 1884-S call it $27K 1885-S $350 1886-S $550 1887-S $300 1888-S $550 Total $28,750 Grand total $35,400 Plus 27 more of lesser value Even if the 84-S is a typo it still over $8,400 plus 28 of lesser value. I see four possibilities. One.someone inherited a collection they know nothing about and are just dumping it. Two It is a scam collect the money deliver nothing and run. Three stolen dealer stock being dumped. Four new generation of counterfeit NGC slabs.

We all know the old saying "if it seems too good to be true...."

All it takes is one person alerting the seller to what he might be giving away and the deal is toast.

It's likely a typo. There probably won't be an 1884-S in that lot.

I have a feeling there ain't no coins worth more than $40 or so wholesale in that whole lot.

I hope they are legit. There is a LARGE COUNTERFEITING RING that is doing both PCGS and NGC slabs on e-bay... I know someone who got an 1895-S morgan that was in a PCGS holder with the serial number that checked out stolen from a Heritage auction... I probably would have still not bid however because though the seller has almost 300 positive feedback... if something looks too good to be true... it probably is. Hopefully for the buyer, it is all legit and an amazing pick if it is!

Even if they get $40 for each coin they're ahead a little bit. To me it would have been worth the risk.

Quote: Here's the same seller, with the same photos, unsold listing with no mention of the mintmarks........ That listing ended the day before the one listed in the OP and it said he had relisted it. The relist is the auction from the OP, a one day auction exact same dates and the same number of each date but this time listing mintmarks a well.
