I am looking for help in finding a wholesale /retail price range for this set.
It includes 2 1987 W 5.00 gold coins: NGC 69 and NGC 69pf Ultra
and 2 1987 Silver Dollars, NGC S pf69 ultra and NGC ms69 philadelphia.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Wholesale price on this set in OGP is 690-720. I'm not sure how the NGC Slabs affect the price. There would probably be a significant premium if they were MS70/PF70. I have seen several modern commems graded ms69/pf69 that do not seem to carry that much of a premium.
Hope this helps.

Another interesting note about this set. They actually sold these at Kmart back when they came out. A friend of mine got his there back in 87. Not really relevant to the value, but I though an interesting little fact.

K-mart sold the two piece sets (the first time a the government sold sets through a commercial firm) but I don't believe they sold the double sets. I vividly remember the sales of the Constitution set. The K-Marts had people lined up out the door to buy these sets at $250 a pop. The coin shop I worked in was just down the street from the K-mart an we were selling the set, in OGP, for $5 over the bullion value or $110. We couldn't sell a single one of them. The only difference btween us and K-mart? Our $110 price was for cash or check, at K-mart you could put the $250 on plastic at 18%. We finally sold the sets we had for scrap.

You know whats funny, the guy who has the set was talking about how they were used by the State Department to give to dignitaries. Then I hear about how they were sold at Kmart !!! Are you kidding me, too funny !

Not only could you use plastic to buy it a Kmart, you could also put them on Lay-A-Way. At least that's how my friend got his.

Would have been funny if gold spiked while it was on lay-a-way I think Kmart only charges a buck for lay-a-way !
