hello,
I am a british amateur coin collector an I have recently acquired, what seems to be an intresting swiss 5F coin;
the coin appears to have the obverse of the 1883 5F (lugano), and the reverse of the 1885 5F (bern).
This is a singular coin and has certainly not been joined together or tampered with, and with all my research failing, I hope that you can shed some light on just what it is.

regards

Yep, please permit me to second Zohar on this one.

You'll see this type of botched fake go on sale on the 'bay regularly; couple listed just the other day. I reported the listings to the 'bay powers, but I'm sure they'll still dupe some buyers out there.

You see, these counterfeiters don't bother learning German and Italian(!) so they have no idea they're making something completely absurd!

SeriousCERES unfortunately these guys resurface with new seller names and feedback (all private transactions). Unfortunately, I have seen the same merchandise sold from US locations with same sellers (I guess the saw a drop in bids when seller location is based in China). While we should not generalize about a people, the Chinese by far are the largest coin forgerers around.
