I would also like to know what the coin is. Also, what kind of detector do you use?

The gold coin is a quarter-noble (face value at time of issue of 20 pence) from the reign of Henry V, 1413-1422. Listed in Spink as number 1756, a subtype of Class C with annulet to the left of the shield and a mullet to the right. See this page on UKDFD for other reported Henry V quarter-noble finds. Not a common coin at all. This Nobles (Australia) Auction in 2007 had a similar type for sale (item #708), which sold for AU$1300.

From the land of the Bluenose...hunted a variety of venues in the UK. Feel for those bouys as hunting spots are at a premium if you have no farmers fields to do. Used my 22 year old Garrett Freedom 3 plus and felt under gunned to the machines they swing over there. Happy hunting all and great to be home and will be going back next year for 2 weeks again.
