If I'm reading the numbers right it's 1987.

It's one of those that is too close to call. It could be 1986, at least I'd give it my vote.

The Hebrew date on the coin is 5746 which converts to the Gregorian year 1985/86 since the Hebrew year 5746 began on September 15 1985

I have just found amongst my collection the 5747 (86/87) version.

Note the last letter (figure) in the date. It is a zayin the seventh letter of the Hebrew alphabet whereas yours appears to be a vav, the sixth letter. It is difficult to see the difference on coins but the zayin has a sort of bar on the top.

The second coin is a hanukkha coin issued annually since 1984 to mark the Jewish holiday.

Looking at your coin again there appears to be something wrong with the date.

The vav is upside down. I don't know whether this is commomn or not but here is a picture showing how the date should look.
