Went to the bank today to pick up my box of cents and nickels. They forgot to put in my order this week but said a kid had come in and deposited $50 worth of nickels if I wanted them. I was kinda surprised when she took them out of the vault. Looks like something you buy off the home shopping network. Each box holds $12.50, each roll has 25 nickels in them. Box is all shiny and says "two-hundred and fifty nickels of the United States of America. Never circulated" They were Westward Journey Nickels 2 boxes of ocean in view p and d. 1 box of d keel boats and a d roll of 2006. I know they are kind of cheesy but I figured I would buy them or a store would and would end up just busting them up.

Definitely an interesting find.

The bad news for the depositor is that they were probably bought at a substantial premium.

That's exactly what I thought when I saw the "pretty" packaging. Someone probably paid some ridiculous amount for these.

There from a company called the World Reserve Montetary Exchange I believe. I too had once ordered $100 in nickels from the bank and received four of those boxes. The boxes I have contained BU bison nickels, I havent opened them. These were sold at rediculously high premiums and I suspect the owner dumped them once they figured out that they were just ordinary nickels. Are yours bison nickels as well?
