Ill give you face value, take it or leave it. :D J/k

I think its just a case of no buyers.

Since you have Make an Offer up, anyone interested would likely make an offer. Perhaps free shipping? But I dont know what you have in the coin.

well I have seen them sell for around what I am asking on heritage and they have been lower grades. I know it will sell and I am not in dire need for the money I just want to move it. I dont have but a couple hundred over melt in the coin plus grading fees and shipping, but want to get close to what its FMV is.

Just a couple notes (no offense intended). Your pics in the ebay auction are not flattering. The color looks dull, and maybe it is, buy it should be brighter.

You have this priced at EF money. I know it graded 40 but it looks like a generous grade to me. Greysheet value drops all the way to $1300 in VF20. My honest opinion is that you'd do well to get $2,000 for this piece because it appears closer to VF30 than EF40.

none taking. I actually do think its graded high but I think its more of a vf-35 than vf-30. I have seen several vf-30's and they look ruff.

One other note Spencer: The wording of your ebay auction could use some work. Here's a quick re-phrasing:

"Up for auction is a 1866-S with Motto $10 Gold Eagle. Although the the 1866-S with Motto is not quite as rare as its No Motto counterpart, both have scant mintages and are rarely encountered in any condition. As far as I know, NO major grading service has certified an example as Mint State. If you have any questions or want additional images, please email me through the ebay system. Shipping will be $25 due to the expense of Registered Mail. If returned, the coin must be in its original holder."
