I now have some coins from Mongolia!

For a long time I refused to collect coins from Mongolia until their government
apologized for the war crimes committed under Ghengiz Khan.

However, I saw these two and had to have them:

I do not see why the current Mongolian government should apologize for Ghengiz Khan, if anyone should after 700+ years that is a task better left for the Chinese as Inner Mongolia is well within their borders. But that is another story. The coins are very nice!
Rest in Peace

If I collected no coins from countries which had committed "war crimes" over the past millenium, I'd be limited to ... what? Luxembourg?

I would not bet on that.
Some rulers were emperor of the Holy German Empire. I have difficulties to believe everything was always very clean

I collect coins from Sweden due to their tradition of neutrality and non-aggression.

What about Vikings? They were in Sweden... and you KNOW some of them had to commit war crimes.

remmy, it was a joke. Sweden was busy long after the Vikings; their neutrality now is understandable.

Yeah...my dry humor does not always convey.
Gotta admit--compared to most of Western Civ, Mongolia has been well-behaved lately.
