Hey all! I found this nickel..what on earth would cause that extra metal above the 6 and above the T in cents? What do you think it's worth? Click on the image for a closer view!

Its a small die chip ,, and although it adds interest to the coin it does not increase its value.

Thanks Rick! Didn't know what it would be, good to know :) If my coin has that, does that mean there are other coins out there with the same thing do you think?

Hi Suvoth

Yes there would be more coins exhibiting the same chip,, coins would be made until the die was retired,,
The hard part is determining where the coins were released, from that particular minting.

an exact or even a guess at the number of coins minted with the chip is next to impossible to determine.
