So many factors influence the answer to that question. For starters star notes are not rare no matter what anybody says. Do they have value? They can, low print run or a fancy serial can make them worth more. That note is a 2006 and could be a 5, 10, or a 20 dollar note. That info helps too.

So your not going to ask how I knew it was a 2006?

I'm guessing by the serial # but I have no knowledge of banknotes I was told that some people like the star notes so I keep an eye out for them in my change.

The I in front of the serial says it is a 2006. I too save some star notes, but I mainly look for low serials (at least 4 zeros at front) or fancy serials. I personally wouldn't save that one, but don't let that influence your decision! Collecting is a personal thing and if I didn't already have a bunch of stars I WOULD save it. For a while I saved every star I got my hands on, then after a while got more picky.

And just for the record, I have a star on every denomination of note but one... I have never yet found a $50 star. So you can bet your bottom dollar that I will be saving the first one I find and it doesn't matter what it looks like.

That is 'highly' interesting. It amazes me just how idiotically redundant things can get. The district has to be identified in more than one code number or letter, and now the series has to be identified in various ways also. I am surprised that everything is not also printed in Spanish on these notes.

lol that is exactly how I felt when you were posting in the "Uncut Sheet" thread talking about sheet numbers! Aren't they identified enough? I swear that is what I was thinking.

Yeah Nick.....if the intent is to just waste some extra ink or to fill in some blank spaces on the notes, I would rather see pictures of kitty cats or flowers or maybe a good joke or virtually anything other than series or districts identified in every way imaginable. Who really cares about that sort of stuff anyway.....does the customer or the cashier at Walmart care about it?
