I just wanted to post that I recently found some cool coins in change I received from purchases. The 1909vdb I got from looking at my change after a purchase and was very surprised to find it, more then 100 years in circulation. The 1945P Jefferson nickel I got from a vending machine. It just popped out. Here are some pics.

Great finds!

I have only been collecting for a couple of months now, but I am amazed at what is still floating around in circulation.

I was really shocked to have found it. It's by far the oldest coin I've ever found in actual circulation.

Not unusual at all lately. Due to the economy being poor, the amount of home robberies, coin store robberies, people robbed on the way to and from a coin show has increased massively. House robberies are so common they are seldom if ever published anywhere. For example we have had several house robberies in my block in the last few months and not one word in any newspaper, radio, TV. One house robbery was about 4 PM on a Saturday.
To a criminal coins are just money and are spent as money. They are money you know. Many criminals even crack open proof and uncirculated sets from the Mint they find in homes since those too contain money to be spent.

The camera flash did highlight it, but to be truthful, the "VDB" is pretty worn down and can only be plainly seen when viewed from an angle.
