A 1963 1 Agora with medal alignment. But the ring? My Hebrew is a little rusty, but I think it says mumble, mumble, mumble. Anyone else got any better thoughts? Identified - moved to Exonumia forum - Sap Edited by Jays-Dad 10/04/2010 06:17 am

I can't help much with most of it, but the lettering at the bottom of the bottom pic is another date: 5724 (1964), the year after the coin itself was struck.
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis

The side with the 1 Agora says the Israel Money and Medal Corporation The other side says Happy new year 5724 which commenced October 14 1963.
So it appears to me to be a token given as a New Year gift to its customers.

Thanks for the info. Apparently your Hebrew is a right lick better than mine. Next question of course, anyone ever seen one like it and is it worth anything?

its one of those dual metal hickeydoos. They made some dukamaflitchies also but I believe this is either a hickeydoo or a whatchamacallit
Sorry, I have no idea and feeling a little giddy right now for some reason

I have never seen one like this and it also does not appear on the Israel medal corporation site.
Yiu could perhaps write to them.

the great thing about it that I like, is how snug and close the 1 agora fits right into the brass ringing around it. very curious on how it was done

The symbol underneath the one agora looks to me like a judaea capta coin

Okay, let me clear this up. It is one of 3 tokens, Israel Greeting Tokens, made. The coin in the center is a 1963 1 agora. This type has three different internal coins with the same outer dated broze rim. It is part of a series of tokens made over the years. This was the only one of its kind. (3 versions) All the other Greeting tokens were just regular coins. You can find it under the sheqel.info site.
