I'm sure most of you have or have had lots and lots of wheat pennies. I'm sitting on quite a few right now (and yes I've searched them all and picked out all the nicies ). But for the rest of them, I'm wondering if I should keep them or "consolidate" them by bringing them all in to a dealer and trading them in for a few MS quality wheats? Input? AC

That's generally what I do with my extras...sell or trade them for something I need.

Coinman1014 and I save all our wheats and roll them up. Every month, we put them in the auction at our coin club with a starting bid of $1. They usually sell for around $2, give or take.

If they are 40s and up, take to your coin shop. Otherwise roll em and ebay.

jprine: I guess that there are quite a few tragics like you in the CCF! On reflection though, if you have a lot of them, a die study of the type can be a good cerebral exercise, and you can contribute to the body of knowledge on them.

I save all the "keepables" I find and re-roll the bad ones to turn into the bank for new rolls to search through. John1

Quote: I save all the "keepables" I find and re-roll the bad ones to turn into the bank for new rolls to search through I hope you dont mean you put wheaties back into circulation. If so I'm sure there a lot of members that would pay shipping for any wheaties at face value.

I'm hoarding them for now. I'll figure out what to do with them later on.

Cool yeah most are 40s and 50s so I'll take those to the dealer. He said he'd give me 2 cents a piece because he sells them 3 cents a piece. I suppose I'll look through my 09-39 and hold on to them if they're worth a pretty penny :)
