I thought I would post them as they are sequential order and are similar to what "jk2005" posted with the 20's. I found these in a CU strap of 1976 $2's and they went in batches of 2 or more notes with the minor error in between the good notes (so to say).

It's the "Face misalignment" that causes the SN's and treasury seal to be shifted up and is NOT the same error as the "misaligned over print". A lot of these errors in the past have been mis classified the by TPG's.

Face Misalignment (2nd Printing) = The face of the note is NOT centered when printed - up / down / right / left.

In Major Face misalignments you get "part" of the 2nd note showing either in the front or back and can be skewed as well.

As usual my pics are not the best, but you get the idea.

How much of a shift do you need until a note is considered a misalignment?

Money, What makes these errors is one portion of the print touching another. This is the key to these.

As per misalignment by itself -- No one is currently paying a premium IF it does not affect something else on the note. A lot ebayers are selling notes where it's shifted up or down to the side etc and calling it misalignments.

In the samples I posted you will see the green treasury seal is touching or is over printed "washington D C" and the FRB district number is touching / overprinted the "right" front plate number on sn 29 and 30.

Technically SN 24 and 27 are NOT errors and SN 25 is a borderline case. These only make sense when you see them in sequence.

Hope this answers your question.
