I've just won this beauty:

Bombay-Peace-Medal-1918

Bombay-Peace-Medal-1918

and needless to say, I'm delighted.
But I can't find any info about it,anywhere.
Does anyone know the engraver, or how many were made?
Thanks
Bob

Thanks, but unless I'm missing something; all I can see is the rectangular 1919 medal.

Thanks again. I'd seen that site a few days ago, and now I'm lusting after a few things I've seen there!

the Hong Kong medal in the link is very similar, but not quite the same.
I wonder what sort of animal that's meant to be : lion; tiger; wolf; something else ?

The Indian Military History Society have given me the following info:

See Robert Puddester "Medals of British India" Volume 1, London: Spink, 2002 (ISBN 1 902040 50 3) number 918.2.1 for this medal plus 918.1 - Lord Willingdon's Medal for Good Recruiting Work (Identical obverse). You might also be interested in 918.2.2 - Bombay Peace Medal - Sailors; and 918.2.3 - Bombay Police Medal - Police (both with the same obverse but different from that on your medal). Yours was not found in the die impressions of the Bombay Mint but was almost certainly struck there.

I can't locate this book, any chance that someone has a copy?
