I found it interesting that there were so few ATBs.
It is was I would expect to see. They are not forced into the system like the Statehood Quarters were. I rarely see them circulating here.

Are you sure it is not silver or platinum plating? I have seen both offered from the home shopping types.

You could try the tissue test (click on tissue test) to see if it may be silver plated.

I am not sure how to tell if it is platinum plated.

Regardless, if this is not an S-mint proof, it is surely plated with something.

So as in my other posts I can get a ridiculous amount of
$500 bags of quarters from casino. Is it worth it?

shavill, you could try. 1 a bag might be a realistic expectation. But, you never know.... could be a big score! (id skip the small gold dollars)

the trick is to try as much as you can from whatever sources you have, as long as you can dump it.

Shavill I go through 2-3 $1000 bags every week from a bank.
I average 1 per bag but I have gone 9 bags without a silver as well.
If you have the time go for it you never know.

Shavill look mainly for silver, not just a rim search learned that lesson.
I look at the very new looking ones for S or Proofs.
Do not have the time to look for variations or errors in the Quarters.

Weekly I go through
$5K in halves (boxed)
$1K in Dimes (Boxed)
$2K-$3K in Quarters (Bag)
$200-400 in Nickels (Bag)
$100-$150 in Pennies (Bag)

When they have the bags available
every other week $1K of dimes (Bag)
every 3 months a $2K of small dollars (Bag)
every 6 months a $1K of Halves (Bag)

Allfome, I am curious (I am sorry if you already mentioned this stat) going through $7-$8K a week looking for silver, how much silver are you pulling out per week?

I am doing similar amounts in Canada (no halfs, just dimes and quarters) and I am averaging about $2~$3 in silver a week.

Average is usually 15 coins a week

Last week big week 65 silver nickels, 6 dimes, 31 halves and 2 quarters.
Not a usual week though

I am collecting Canadian but only get about 5 silver per month

Wow, I guess when you have the ability to do 4 denoms that can produce silver you can really go at it. are you have searching by hand, or by some sort of sorter?
