I have two dollar bills that are bleached on the front side except for the serial numbers, the bank seal and the treasury seal. Could someone do this or would this be unusual?

if someone was trying to counterfeit by putting a higher denomination on it... hopefully they're smart enough to do a pre-1996 though when all bills still only had 1 letter at the beginning of the serial like all $1

Error notes....under inked second printing. Try bleaching one side without affecting the other (or the third printing)......just try. Quote: hopefully they're smart enough to do a pre-1996 though when all bills still only had 1 letter at the beginning of the serial like all $1 Quote: I have two dollar bills that are bleached My understanding of the English language leads me to believe that this describes the plural form of a dollar bill, so pre-1996 is irrelevant anyway.

Do you keep your pictures in "My Pictures" on our computer? If so, right click on a picture.....a drop down will open....select "Open With".......then select "Paint".....if you don't know how to use 'Paint', I will try to explain it.

1) Open a free account at photobucket.com2) Left click on Upload Image; locate folder on your computer to find pic you want to upload. 3) Once uploaded, left click on the photo, then left click on "share" 4) Left click on "Get link code," left click on "IMG for bulletin boards & forums" "Full size" to highlight. 5) Right click for "copy" 6) Come to Coin Forum & right click & paste. It's sounds complicated but it's not. It takes a few seconds & the pic is now properly sized for the Forum.

Your notes appear to be genuine, congrats on a nice find.
"The counterfeits I have got have the entire notes bleached. I seriously doubt that only one side could be done."
It is fairly easy to remove the ink on only one side of the note. There are many chemicals out there that can remove the ink completely without addecting the obverse side of the note. In lwal50's case, I don't think it is able to be done because his notes seals and SN are completely intact and non-faded.
