Looks like the 2010 American Eagle Silver Proof is available from the US Mint on the 19th of this month. Pricewise I believe its going to run $45ish.

I plan on buying one for my personal collection however my question is: Would this be a good investment for future resale, immediate and long term?

Thoughts....

Just a crazy little thought ( Pardon the pun ) like posting this in the US Modern Coin section I'm sure would bring out the US experts to chime in and answer your question..

My opinion, if it suits your collection, then go for it & enjoy..

At this time, I don't view the 2010 proof as much of an investment. One for your collection should be enough. If they were $31.95 as they were 2 years ago, then it might be worth buying a few more but not at $45.95/ea.

Actually, I'm more worried about the quality of the coins this year. The folks buying the AGE have already voiced their dissatisfaction with the strikes here on the forum.

im gonna get one just because of the controversy. Usually controversial coins hold up well, at least in the shortterm.
