There are quite a few "cuartos" and "decimos" around in local coin shops, they are common and inexpensive. "Medios" are not as frequent but not hard to find either. I agree though that they are attractive. I also like their commemoratives.
I did a 3 week Army tour there and have 22 in 5 types. I love the semi-low mintages on these coins. The 1/4 Balboa from late 60's and 70's is on my world coin cherrypicking list :) I might get lucky!
I have 3 extra 1 Centesimo but don't recall the dates. I can check if you want. I can't start trades but you can.
I found a 1934 medio, which is 90% silver; 2x1966 medio, 1x1968; these 3 are 40% silver; 4 Ni-Cu clad with different dates; I have one extra 66, want to trade a 67. Anyone has an extra 67?
