Are these coins (this one and Dr. Prasad from another thread) circulation coins?

yes and no

they are issued for general circulation but they hardly ever make it. majority of them are bought by dealers who sell them for fabulous prices

make sure you get both the dies

the first die has the regular image

the second one has a lot of flow lines on it. it looks like scrratches on the coin but in light it sparkles beautifully

oh I forgot if you look for it you can also find plain edge in this one

it might be in prasad also but I have not found it

look its dear nic. long time no see well the coin is 23 mm in diameter

ok here is another secret it is supposed tobe 23 mm but it is only 22.9mm god only knows what the mint employees smoke :)

a discrepancy in weight? well those are little secrets to weed out the real from the fake, so if I get one at 23.2mm diameter... it must be a fake
